Hello All,
I was browsing the Codesourcery site and noticed on here:
<http://www.codesourcery.com/gnu_toolchains/arm.html>
that "CodeSourcery plans to provide an automatic installation package
for Windows."
Has anything been done towards this?
If not, then FYI I've been the admin of the WinAVR project
<http://winavr.sourceforge.net/>
which provides a GCC based toolchain for the AVR. The download is a
single-file Windows installer based on the open source NSIS installer
package:
<http://nsis.sourceforge.net/>
and WinAVR contains multiple open source software dev tools for the AVR:
binutils, gcc, avr-libc, avrdude, uisp, insight, avarice, simulavr,
srecord. It also contains a pretty good editor (that's not quite an IDE
yet), examples, documentation, an Info viewer for Windows, etc. The
installer is by no means perfect yet, but it improves with every release.
I wanted to mention this as some ideas as what can be done in this area
and to mention NSIS as an open source alternative if you hadn't already
considered it.
Thanks
FWIW,
Eric Weddington
