COMDAT and section index proposals

I submitted (for the C++ ABI group) two proposals in mid October:
#72 defining group (a.k.a. COMDAT) sections, and #74 proposing an
approach to eliminating the 64K section limit.  Due to the focus
on the draft psABI cleanup, we have not begun discussion of them.
However, a number of ongoing implementation efforts are dependent
on resolution of at least issue #72.

It would be very helpful if we could jumpstart the issue via email
discussion before meeting in January.  The proposals are in the
latest IA-64 ABI open issues document, or can be found on my web
