Hi all,
Looks like it worked, both the patch command and make completed.
Thanks for the quick turnaround and all of your help!

Thanks for doing this so quickly. I apologize, but I've never
used the patch command before and am having trouble with it.
Assuming the diff file is called salpatch.diff, I'm using the
following command:
Hopefully Stefan or someone can pinpoint any problems if this
doesn't work, but this is the recipe that I use. I tried this
against the 1.3.1 release, so if you are using 1.3, the number of
lines offset may vary.
Note this is done from within the top-level directory containing
'src':
$ patch -p0 < ../salpatch.diff
patching file ChangeLog
Hunk #1 FAILED at 1.
1 out of 1 hunk FAILED -- saving rejects to file ChangeLog.rej
patching file configure.ac
Hunk #1 succeeded at 1379 (offset -57 lines).
patching file src/vsip/opt/sal/elementwise.hpp
The change log failure is no big deal of course, but the other two
files succeeded so all should be well.
