System Administrator

CodeSourcery is seeking an experienced Sacramento-area GNU/Linux and Microsoft Windows system administrator on a part-time or full-time basis. If selected, you will assist in the maintenance of CodeSourcery's systems, including CodeSourcery's embedded board lab. While you will report to CodeSourcery's lead system administrator, you will also interact extensively with CodeSourcery's toolchain and high-performance computing software development teams. While you will be able to perform most of your duties from the comfort of your own home, you will also work in our Sacramento data center when on-site work is required.

Your duties will include designing, implementing, maintaining, and documenting systems for authentication, backups, electronic mail, web service, and software test infrastructure. To be considered for this position, you must have significant experience administering GNU/Linux systems, including the use of firewalls, the Apache web server, DNS, NIS, NFS, shell scripting, and related technologies. Because you will work primarily from home, you must have be self-motivated and have excellent written communication skills.

The ideal candidate will have familiarity with the Debian or Ubuntu Linux distributions, VMWare, ZOPE, QMail, Courier IMAP, and SSH. Experience with HP network switches, OpenGear serial servers, and APC power-distribution units is a plus.
