CodeSourcery Announces Upcoming Availability of GNU Toolchain for ColdFire® Processors

Granite Bay, CA -- February 21, 2006 -- CodeSourcery will provide GNU Toolchains for Freescale Semiconductor's ColdFire® processors. CodeSourcery's first release of ColdFire toolchains for GNU/Linux will be available March 1st, 2006. For additional information, visit http://www.codesourcery.com/gnu_toolchains/coldfire.

CodeSourcery will provide binary releases of the GNU Toolchain for V2 through V4e ColdFire processors, for a wide variety of embedded target systems, including the ordinary Linux kernel, the MMU-less uClinux kernel, other embedded operating systems, and configurations not requiring an operating system. CodeSourcery's releases will be conveniently packaged for both Microsoft Windows and GNU/Linux users.

CodeSourcery's toolchain for ColdFire processors will contain the complete GNU Toolchain: the GNU C and C++ compilers, C and C++ runtime libraries, and the GNU Debugger, with modifications to support Freescale reference designs. CodeSourcery will provide updates as future ColdFire processors are released.
