Using Sourcery G++ to Debug the Linux Kernel (Sourcery G++ Application Note AN002)

Abstract

This application note provides a detailed, step-by-step introduction to building and debugging the Linux kernel with Sourcery G++, using a PHYTEC phyCORE-LPC3250 development board equipped with a SEGGER J-Link device as the target hardware. It shows you how to use features of the Sourcery G++ IDE to simplify the processes of configuring the target board, building the kernel, navigating around the kernel sources, and controlling the debugger.

This is part of a series of three related application notes. The other two notes are available as kbentry195 and kbentry197.
